You are such a beautiful writer! I love the idea of thinking of routines as rituals. I love my morning routine. It sets me up to handle everything life throws my way. I do my version of morning pages then do Tracy Anderson workout. Iβm working on setting an intention for the day. Today itβll be to spread π love. β‘οΈπβ‘οΈ
Great reminders! There's an important distinction to be made between mindless routines and mindful rituals. I find it's easy to let my mind race ahead to what's coming up in the day, rather than stay mindful. A simple example: while I'm washing my face with a washcloth, I can think about the to-do list, plan the times for doing particular things, etc. (not a ritual) OR I can be thankful for clean water, the lives of factory workers that made the washcloth, or just concentrate on what it feels like to clean my face. NOW, we're talking ritual, when I'm mindful and in the present moment.

Love this! Setting an intention is such a great idea. I do that each new moon. I guess my daily oracle card draw is kinda like that. π

You inspired this haiku, thanks!
daily, the same thing
am I mindful, or am I not?
here, now: ritual
This is really beautiful Jo and very inspiring. Thank you for sharing!
