I love how freeing this whole piece is. How wonderful of a memory and experience. I need to go there someday 🧡

Thank you 🙏 I hope everyone gets a chance to visit the GC in their lifetime. You may not rip off your clothes and cry 😆 but it's impossible to not be inspired by the immensity and depth of Grandmother Canyon 💚🌀

A cathedral. I'm glad you have found heaven here on Earth. I love backpacking in the Grand Canyon with friends. Last trip was down Bright Angel, across Tonto and up Hermit for Thanksgiving.

Just a tangent for a longer conversation, add Gary Snyder's poem of the canyon wren and this digression to your day https://www.connotations.de/article/john-whalen-bridge-gary-snyder-dogen-and-the-canyon-wren/

We may just be soul sisters Johanna! Born NYS and found the Tucson desert as a small child. Oh the saguaros.!! Entranced.

Moved to AZ just after high school and then western CO for 26 years. Love love love the formations of that whole region. Crafted the GC for my 50th birthday in 2018.

You'll cry and take your clothes off, I imagine. I know I did.

Cheers. J
