The world needs the art and wisdom that I love far too much for me to devalue it through an exchange only for a fixed amount of survival tokens. That would make it seem like they are of equal worth, which is false and unbalanced. How can I measure a seed that hasn't yet flowered its impact upon the world?

I love this! Follow your passion and your passion will follow. So true. You are a great example of devotion to your art. Let them eat art!

Damn. This is smokin’ hot! It’s making me count my blessings for my muggle job (which AI may take over soon) that as much as I complain about does afford me quite a bit of time off to fill my cup gallivanting around and doing absolutely nothing. And as much as I would rather just full time galavant, I’m really glad that I don’t have to film my life or worry about my safety because people from the internet are tracking me down irl.

OMG I didn't even think about that! People who make money filming their lives! That's exhausting! And as you say, scary.

I loved reading all of this and plan to return to it (and more of your writing for wisdom) to dig deeper in the burnout question, a topic I’m researching among healthcare practitioners. I changed professions at 39, and will be finishing a doctorate in a field I don’t see AI taking over unlike my previous profession, but more importantly, believe I can do happily and charge a fair price for without the pressures and compromise that come with commodifying my creative work. Separating my passion projects from my work does not mean I don’t work from my heart—I do—but it does make it easier to be pragmatic and not burn out.
